Talk about your profession - several times a
year, students across the SPAHP have the opportunity to
talk about their profession to high school students
interested in the health careers.
Athletic training - physical therapy students
have the opportunity to volunteer in sports physical
therapy
for high school football and basketball games for UnOmaha High School under the supervision of Dr. Patrick
Cross, PT. Volunteer opportunities are often Friday
evenings during each sports season.
Acanthosis screenings - students from nursing,
medicine, pharmacy, physical and occupational therapy
can participate in the acanthosis screenings that check
children for the precursors for diabetes type 2.

Native American Retreat - each year Creighton
University holds a retreat that invites high school
students of Native American descent from across the
United States to learn about college in a 3-day retreat.
Students from nursing, medicine, pharmacy, physical and
occupational therapy can educate high school students
interested in the health professions on Day 3 when the
participants learn about different college degrees
available. This event is sponsored by the Office of
Multicultural Affairs and Undergraduate Admissions.
Native American Special Interest Group - want
to get involved? The Native American Special Interest
Group is a group made up of students, faculty and staff
from SPAHP interested in doing outreach and programming
with the Tribes. For more, visit the
